Fire Prevention Day at NECCS: Stay Safe, Be Prepared!
At Newark Educators Community Charter School (NECCS), we believe that learning about safety is just as important as math and reading! This year, we’re excited to celebrate Fire Prevention Day to help our Pre-K through 4th-grade students understand how to stay safe and be prepared in case of an emergency.
On Fire Prevention Day, students will learn from local firefighters about fire safety tips, like how to “Stop, Drop, and Roll,” and the importance of having a family escape plan. We’ll even get to see a real fire truck up close!
Here’s what we’re focusing on:
- Fire Safety Basics: Knowing what to do if there’s a fire.
- Smoke Alarms: Why they’re important and how they help.
- Escape Plans: How to create a safe way to get out of the house.
- Firefighters are Helpers: Understanding the role of firefighters and how they keep us safe.
Families are encouraged to talk to their children about fire safety at home and create an emergency plan together. Safety is something we all work on, and learning these tips young can make a big difference!
Let’s work together to keep our NECCS community safe! 🔥🚒
